At the very least, it makes actions feel more rewarding. I have noticed while making games that adding a slight delay between the input and the action, with proper feedback after entering the input, makes the action feel much more impressive than if the action takes place immediately, even though you did the exact same thing.
Developers of game Factorio did great blog https://www.factorio.com/blog/post/fff-106 about action and rewards.

Hourglass is the main difference between good game and farmville. You need to see progress, and it needs time, so result has some value. You can speed it, but just right, otherwise, it will feel empty.

imo the big thing that should have small hour glass are the chore things. e.g. butchering and farming. When you're building something, it feels nice for it to be slow because it seems important. When you're doing something for the 5th time this week, it feels annoying when it's slow.

I acctually agree with this. you collect all those materials to make that mansion and boom you complete it in 10 seconds.

I'm guessing this happened from experience? Haha! Did you make multiple beehives by accident?

Press lin/flax seeds.

linseed oil = flax seed oil
flaxmeal == linseed meal (as in flower)

im starting to think the subscriber/verified perc of speed increase should only work on crafting things with more than a certain normal time, some of the already quick tasks seem too fast...imo maybe limit the speed increase to only things that normally take more than 5ish seconds?
