I have to disagree with Granger. There's a game called Puzzle Pirates. They had subscription and "doubloon" (microtransaction) servers. To this day, about 15 years after it started, the doubloon server is far more active than the sub server. People like the illusion that it's worth it to waste their time instead of being forced to pay cold, hard cash to get something. And eventually they come to the conclusion, right or not, that maybe shelling out $19 for a load of microcurrency which they can freely use without wasting even more time.
And recall that PP has some of things which can easily translate into HnH experience: houses, businesses, consumables ( weapons and ammo which require doubloons), ships (all of which require doubloons), familiars and pets, clothing, even wedding rings and bangles and forget-me-not-type gifts.

Yeap, it is kinda part of human nature - if you get something for free, you won't bother too much about its quality. But if you have paid for something - you want it to be the best quality you can get. So RTM could bring even more botters.Idlehumor wrote:Micro transactions for everything! Because that won't fuck anything up.Granger wrote:Or maybe skip any RMT altogether, as this usually fucks up a game?
Anyway, I agree. RMT would bring more botters than new players.
Also, making inventory size dependable on paying model, is kinda weird solution for "bringing more new players". If you want more new players - making the game start more difficult is not the best choice.
And, again, cosmetics for money may become not the best decision, but it is definitely worth trying. There was a lot of posts like "give us statues and fountains for real money" or "why only hats in the store"?, so that's could be a good hit.

Swedes would read it closer to "yoorb", but it's not just a regular swede we are talking about here, so better if he answers himself.Boas wrote:Is it "jorb" or is it "yorb"?
