Spring has all of the downsides of winter without the only redeeming quality of kicksleds. No seeds, limited foragables, no fast travel on land anymore. The only good thing is that my minimaps aren't as eye-rapey now.
Spring is the worst season. Why?

Just a 20 day window a new player could potentially spawn into? Can't get beginner discoveries, can't plant trees, can hardly get string for hide racks because no cattails spawn. Sounds great for player retention and new player experience

Ideas to fix spring:
Some types of trees should seed early, and maybe even die off in fall to balance?
Maybe evergreens seed in spring?
Frogspawn suggests that frogs must exist, yet they do not. perhaps they should exist but in much, much smaller numbers?
Insects like dragonflies that do not exist could have fun larval stage counterparts?
Animals like foxes, wolves, bears and hibernating animals would be coming out of dens in spring with their babies.
It's time for baby wild animals tbh imo.
Also, spring mushrooms exist.

Dryad's Saddle
Oysters

With that being said, I think player retention is up compared to last world. We still get 900+ at peak hours after almost 2 months, and I remember it being much lower this point last world.
