Partial tar collection = as much tar as you want if you're fine making the kilns. Mohair is preferred for that brute force method since goats spawn much more frequently than mouflon do, but it's still 90 clovers to get a snekk.
Not something most villages will even consider attempting.

I think that it would be a great occasion for founding the official HnH discord server, already have twitter, even facebook. Moderated by forum mods or such.
I mean i'd join the 'global discord server' officially endorsed by the creators ran by responsible mods. Twitter and Facebook? Pass, i dont think Jorbtar is that worried about 'getting the word out' but discord would definitely increase community!

There is an unofficial discord server. If you've been banned on it, you're probably a reprehensible piece of shit to be completely honest. There are people who spend an hour once a week on some racist/sexist diatribe and they don't get picked off by one of the two active mods.

The unofficial discord server is a shitshow. For any new players wanting actual discussion/help about HnH the much smaller but actually moderated discord server is the better choice.

There were certainly snekkjas on the water almost as soon as the tar kilns quit burning their first load last world. There were people fleeing the central continent not much after than, probably larger groups (5-10 people) at first that could organize their efforts, and solo players were taking a bit longer depending on their risk tolerance.
Yes, a farm may speed it up a bit. You certainly don't need to wait on an entire farm over multiple cycles just to get enough flax or hemp cloth, which is what was being implied. Also, there's leather fabric, which cuts your need on hemp or flax by 60% (though does require a lot of leather in a short time--9 cloth is a whopping 36 leather and 18 flax/hemp). Whether to farm some or all of it is going to be up to you, but I can tell you, again this world, there are going to be snekkjas floating by on day 3-4.
All I ask is that you think rather than spewing your shit on the forums, and we certainly don't need flame wars in Announcements.
Why even bother to build shekkja if one can jump into rowboat and go trough whirlpool?
