I'll be back for W13! Will make sure my guide gets updated againMagicManICT wrote:Also, thanks for pointing this out. Some of the guide writers haven't played in a while or haven't updated their posts, and I try to get to them when folks point out issues. I've updated the first post.

Yeah there should really be clear clarification on wiki or somewhere how the current death mechanics work, its not completely clear in previous posts and is quite an important thing.

Aren't too many of us who enjoy dealing with the wiki. Hard to keep updated in a game which revises mechanics frequently. I have trouble keeping the last 6 world's mechanic sets straight sometimes.banok wrote:Yeah there should really be clear clarification on wiki or somewhere how the current death mechanics work, its not completely clear in previous posts and is quite an important thing.

Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

Probably shouldn’t bother with fighting bears and elks at 120/120 unless by fair fight you mean chip a bunch into your armour.tadeo wrote:Bump we need update of this guide for world 13 ;)

Lynxes are p low stat except they’re pita if you can’t one or two-tap it because they run very fast and don’t seem to reaggro very well.
Wolves are usually in groups and soloing then can be very dangerous.
Beavers are pretty easy.
Seals are a lot less scary than bears but not very easy.
Pelicans and swans are tougher than you’d think but quickly become trivialised.
Honestly a lot of this is also just dependant on how much armor or potential wounds you’re willing to sacrifice. Just cheese on boat and if you want you can try to fight normally while in the boat for quick escape in case things go wrong. A middle ground for practicing in is go in, fight, if you start opening sail into water, lower, repeat. Experiment to get a feel for it yourself. Don’t let your opening go high if your stats are low it goes wrong very quickly

we need a future proof guide cheesing is not a valid strategy when it can be patched or changed there needs to be a valid strategy to fight everything without cheesing

Meh, cheese was in the game since the legacy, even the form remained pretty much the same. In the extremely unlickely chance if it'll be changed then we'll need a brand new guide anyway, since "removing cheese" will surely take a good bit of re-writing of the basic fighting mechanics, so any old guides will be outdated.SavageFox wrote:we need a future proof guide cheesing is not a valid strategy when it can be patched or changed there needs to be a valid strategy to fight everything without cheesing

Re: zebratul's Fighting/Taming Guide for new players (18.02.19)
Hello.
I tried to cheese-hunt boar on horse and boat. Please say what am i doing wrong?
On boat:
1. The plan is to apply 2-3 Takedowns to get Yellow opening > Opportunity knocks > Full circle.
2. The moment i boat away to deep water boar immidiately run away and begin to rapidly drop openings.
3. By the time he returns he is fully restored, and while he run, even if he bounces around in shallow water - he rapidly drops his openings.
4. The only way i see how it can be cheesed it is if i follow him on shallow water and hit while he run because theres a period while he ignores me if he already began to run after being unable to reach me, but its very tedious and requires huge shallow water. Unrealistic to do each time, and one boar is no big achievement to struggle so hard for it.
On horse:
1. The plan is the same but on land.
2. The moment i run away to lower my opening boar begin to lower his openings too, he uses some move while running after me.
3. I try to make progress towards his opening by continuing to apply Takedown, if i apply Takedown on cooldown going in-and-out it works, opening accumulates but it have no difference to a face-to-face fight because everytime i go-in the boar strikes me too so i get opening. If i go-out and lower openings even once - the boar uses this time to lower his openings too, thus making my progress silly.
4. By doing this over and over i accumulate big chip damage from boar doing very little damage to his acutal HP.
The guide say its enough 20\20 to cheese and 45\45 for a fair fight with boar, i have 70 UA 80 MC, 55 AGI, 60 STR, 150 damage woodland axe and shield (using Shield up)
I manage to kill boars rather easy but only by just overpowering them by stats and equipment taking ~200 damage to armour and ~50 to face, which is unacceptible and scary.
The guide say wild horse is stronger but i easily win them when taming taking only 40 armour damage. But once i accidently aggroed horse after taming and it was a thrilling fight where i did like 800 damage to horse (idk wiki say it have 350 hp but i swear i saw 800+, maybe i hallutinated coz i was very scared in the moment).
- So are taming fights somewhy much easier than real fights?
- Did i do something worng trying to cheese boar on boat and horse?
I cant imagine being able the cheese boar with 20\20 stats. I feel like the most easy and efficient may is just to stand and fight boar to death accepting all the damage, but people somehow cheese them, i even saw video someone cheese troll taking 0 damage. Am i just bad and hopeless?
Thanks.
