Even if they can't be placed on boat/cart/etc. (to avoid technical implementation cost/bugs/etc.) this would still be a massive QoL upgrade (unless you are moving bases, or moving drying frame area inside a large base) since main problem area is that currently you can't move them at all and so you have to be extremely careful when building them so that they're all on the correct pixel perfect placement for the most efficient space usage. You could spam-build them nearby and pixel-perfect place them later for example. Or make minor adjustment to the rack area later. Or clear an area blocked by couple of drying frames without being forced to bash them.kirion wrote:+1 on liftable drying frames, it doesn't seems too far-fetched.

It's a hard sell for me to engage again in the same neverending grind when there are so many good games that just released. Also changes still sound biased towards giving your life and soul away just to keep up with the rest of the world and stay relevant

It's actually reassuring to encounter someone with similar sentiments. Initially, I enjoyed the wipes, even multiple times. However, frequent and repetitive wipes can take a toll on one's real-life commitments. Most importantly, we also need to focus on skill development in the real world, so having our sandcastles repeatedly washed away can be quite tiring.Sollar wrote:It's a hard sell for me to engage again in the same neverending grind when there are so many good games that just released. Re: Prelude: World 15
Containers just suck in general and drying frames are one of the worst culprits. I feel like 10-20% of my play time was some form of container or inventory management, which I could previously pretend was some sort of vision for how the game was supposed to be but adding the ability to increase container size without improving anything about container management sort of kills that theory.
Drying frames have tiny inventories and it's even worse in relation to the size of the items that go into them and the amount of items that a normal village will need to put through them.
Going through to unload or load drying frames is incredibly tedious and I doubt you'd find anyone who enjoyed the process, even increasing the size of them just hides the problem that interacting with so many identical containers is uninteresting and tedious.
After not playing for a few years, one of the coolest additions for me was the ability to add parchment with an item icon to containers. So much content added over the years and out of all of them a tiny step towards making containers less awful was one of the high points for me should say how important container quality of life changes are.
Stockpiles were better in some ways and worse in others, I ended up having more dead space between stockpiles than stockpile area just to try to manage what was in the blackbox stockpiles and avoid mixing them together.
Haven't played since before stacks, but not sure if nesting containers without actually tackling the problem with containers would help.

well said about relation of drying frame's capacity to what the object represents in game even if you compare toon size ot the frame, should easily fit 4 bear hides. even if frames were to be 6x6, which is a fine medium imo, that would be huge improvement. As a result, you may want to think about implementing mammoth and troll skins to be 3x3.
as we talk about skins, i think boreworm's skin is not reflecting the monster itself. boreworms have like 1500-2000k HP, they should be of more considerable size to match their HP. Subsequently, their hide should also be much bigger, 3x2, and for the love of god, find some use for this item as it's a throwaway item most of the time. (some part of clothing designed for miners?)
Having higher capacity frames would allow for example for variable size of snake skins, from current 2x1 to 4x1. While lets say deer sizes dont differ a lot, snakes can vary greatly in that regard.

They could've chopped off your leg, be grateful they kicked you in the nuts instead!"yym331 wrote:The issue of "Pay to Win" has been making headlines, but when you compare it to the common practice in modern Japanese games where you spend around 3,000 yen (20 USD) for ten gacha pulls and multiply that by about a hundred times for competitive play, I don't see any problems at all. In fact, the Japanese community hasn't discussed it at all. Please continue.
Haven already requires $22 upfront to play seriously ($15 for verified, $7 for one month sub), plus the subscription cost for every month past the first. To charge players an uncapped indeterminate fee for even more gameplay advantage is ludicrous, and that's not even going into how this could inspire more pay-to-win additions down the road. The fact that greedy mobile games nowadays use literal unregulated gambling as business model does not make it okay; I don't want Haven to be anything like a gacha game.
It's slightly clunky but it really helps with cupboard storage (and effectively gives a lot more personal inventory space and portable container capacity). I think the main problem causing storage issues was that you now store tons more items than back in world 8, and stacking has remedied this for a large part. Non-storage containers (e.g. drying frames) are unaffected by this though.Delamore wrote:Haven't played since before stacks, but not sure if nesting containers without actually tackling the problem with containers would help.

tbh never had a problem with moving drying frames area, since at the time you are establishing base and make some planning/replanning their quality rises every day, so you just build and bash them.vatas wrote:Even if they can't be placed on boat/cart/etc. Re: Prelude: World 15
In the land of Haven and Hearth, oh so neat,
Lived hermits and hearthlings in a cozy retreat.
In World 14, they thrived, oh what a grand time,
But now, my dear friends, it's the end of the line.
Fear not, don't you fret, don't you worry or wail,
For in World 15, a new story will sail.
The hermits and hearthlings will rise once again,
In a world where volcanoes are worshipped, my friend.
The fiery mountains, so mighty and tall,
Will be temples of power, we'll worship them all.
With flames in our hearts and alliances strong,
In this new world, we'll truly belong.
No more farewells, no more sad goodbyes,
In World 15, we'll reach for the skies.
New friendships will bloom, like flowers in spring,
And together we'll face whatever challenges bring.
So pack up your bags, and say your goodnight,
For in World 15, it'll all be all right.
Haven and Hearth will live on, never to cease,
In this new beginning, our hearts find their peace.
