I usually don't agree with Misa but... Yeah. I've literally seen this happen w12. The hermits got together and destroyed the node (cut down all trees and planted grass was wild). But in the end they people living their got their shit kicked in.

But don't tell me they would have stood a chance if the other side didn't bot. We both know that none of those poor souls knew how to run and fight.

That's entirely beside the point lol just imagine it's one spot that gets checked along their regular route or whatever, the solo player may not even necessarily live nearby the village. The problem is that there's a character loading the area, causing stuff to spawn, and then logging out until the area unloads and doing that over and over again on a regular basis. It leaves little opportunity for other players to try and get something out of those locations too.

i might be wrong but i think overworld alt checking is not very common (perhaps it is?). I just see mammoths and anglers (which are private area) bots

It is. Once a good high q moose/bear node is found alts are always used to check the area. Saves you time and is risk free. Doesn't even need to be automated, it's a problem even when people without bots do it manually.

I think overall it's not as big of a deal as this thread is making it out to be. You can still PvE, PVP, farm, mine, cook, eat, etc etc etc without a bot. It's not really interfering with a person's personal experience except for in some fringe cases that I almost feel like is just a bad mechanic. Dream catchers are the dumbest shit on the planet and deserve to be botted into oblivion. The only thing it's doing (if these mega end-to-end play the game for me bots exist) is making it to where you can't be competitive against like, 1% of the population. That's not a big deal at all. Like, who legit cares? Just have fun with your friends and make pretty villages and memories. People are taking this way too seriously.

I ain't joining anybody. I confirmed what I needed years ago by joining a top village.
I'm not even playing this world with my IRL m8 like I usually do, I'm hermitting solo while he joins a village.
Group PvP in this game is really unfathomably shit. I tried it, it was a cluster fuck, barely anybody died despite there being like 60 people involved. I can't even imagine that being people's reason for playing. There's been so many better games that cater to PvP and skill expression. Even fucking UO PvP mogs the ever-loving shit out of H&H's PvP.

H&H PvP boils down to
>Numbers are king
>Being able to click bunnies
>Drinking efficiently
>Run run run run
>40 minutes later, 2 people died out of 34

That shit is a far cry from the likes of L2 or UO. I'd go as far as saying that if you want to turn people off of Haven and Hearth, show them a PvP video. It's the boringest shit ever. I was regularly 1 vs 8+ people in Lineage 2. Me and my m8 where killing off groups who had p2w donators buying +16 gear and boss jewels with IRL money while we were underleveled and in dogshit unenchanted/+3 gear. None of that shit is possible in H&H. Even your crowning achievement of killing felix was down to you trapping him with alts and using numbers. Even Felix couldn't handle just 3 of you in that situation.
Not even joking, even Terraria has more skillful PvP. WoW does too. The only exhilarating thing in Haven's favour when it comes to PvP is the potential permadeath aspect, outside of that the PvP is this games weakest aspect by far.
