It was suggested to me from multiple sources that the early game was basically unplayable without this tactic, and while I don't exactly agree myself (I've never done it), I also obviously don't play particularly competitively, and as I thought it wasn't a big deal, I just reintroduced it because why not. Now that you tell me it's a controversial decision, though, I'm more than willing to remove it again, so thanks for pointing that out.
Seems silly to remove if you're not going to put in some way to defend your pali mats, e.g. buff stone walls to have a meaningful soak like 200 STR.

The game is pretty tedious when everything you have is forfeit while you're offline.

>Big villages when they get ''''''griefed'''' by some guy coming across their early game settlement and taking their hides off their drying racks
>"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LOFTAR SAVE ME, THIS CAN'T BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO BARRICADE OURSELVES INTO A CAVE AND STEAL OTHER PEOPLES HIDES AND BREAK THEIR SHIT AND THREATEN THEM WITHOUT ANY RETALIATION"

If you can't finish your hides because someone keeps taking them off your racks, then move :)
These crocodile tears are beyond cringe
>B-b-b-b-but muh hides
Yeah the same hides which you're stealing from others without giving a shit.

I hope this serves a lesson on the problem with taking whatever-bayers seriously.

I'm a WB member? That's news to me.
I'm sure Robben will be thrilled.

Holy shit that village really does live rent-free in your minds. Discord, the forums, everywhere I go people are bringing them up out of nowhere to seethe and now this guy randomly brings them up for no fucking reason like lmao the fuck is wrong with people?

Erm, excuse me sir but the cost to get theft is 50,200 LP, simply put, my leanto is useless by day 2.

I do not have a strong opinion on this. On the one hand I think the mechanic/exploit is a bit ugly (hence we removed it), on the other hand I can see the point that its a convenient early game defense for larger groups (hence reverting the removal). Do note that it is possible to attack a cave system thus claimed off by mining into it, and that seems somewhat fun in itself. Given that I do not have a strong opinion, I am disposed to defer to most anyone who does, but since this is apparently controversial, I also am disposed to letting things stand as they have historically (i.e. it being possible to claim off caves). Feel free to convince me otherwise, I suppose, but for now I am going to let the changelog stand.
