Re: Prelude: World 16
Am I right in believing that a tier 5 food is only twice as good/hunger efficient as a tier 1 food?

Either don't buff it, remove it completely, make it something interesting like pepper that applies to singular pieces of food to reduce hunger with a wound so can't be abused, make it a good spice that reduces hunger at the cost of not being able to use other spices.

This also. Redundancy that can be scaled back later is better than having a nuclear implosion on start where no matter how quickly you fix the problem, it will have been a fix offered too late.wonder-ass wrote:this is the second biggest release of the game, having a larger un needed server is A LOT better than a too small laggy server.jorb wrote: Difficult problem to navigate tbh. Thank you all for the feedback. We post these in advance for a reason. May consider various points raised.
its 100% worth the investment. first impression of the game will be the make or break, if it lags at ALL its so joever.

Re: Prelude: World 16
The multiple server thing is not a fix, because once the rushers leave, they'll all be too empty for most people's tastes, and there's no good way to consolidate the remaining players. As I've said before, we'd do better to keep older servers, that rushers see as "dead", for the players that prefer to avoid early game madness, who only swell the numbers on new servers because they have no better choice.WowGain wrote:This also. The devs might also put some thought into keeping older, low population servers a bit more viable, with emphasis on the population that prefers the middle to late stages of a world. Maybe invent a world channel, not available except e.g. in areas that once had kingdoms, or still have them but with hardly any usage. (I presume there's some reason that the early worlds have essentially no public channels; perhaps it's part of the new world mystery some people like.)
Talking of mystery: maybe publish an official map of older worlds. I greatly enjoyed the excellent maps available late in what I think was world 13, when I was learning the game. They enabled a brash newbie to relocate one winter, over frozen rivers and such, to far better terrain. (It even had a bonus - an unoccupied tower, needing just a bit of repair, and its well picked over contents, which seemed like treasures to the newbie.) Of course that was before the scandal of map-contributing clients that also snooped on users for the client author's in-game benefit... world maps have been too little, too late ever since.

I've been out of touch for quite a bit, but I remember salt was mostly useless since the big nerf days. Why is buffing it a bad thing?

And then he goes on to list basically only the things his clique tards agree on.Dawidio123 wrote:so TL:DR after 20 pages of forum posts for the devs on stuff i think most ppl agree on:

You've just listed a bunch of shit that got talked about less than bows being nerfed.
If you search this thread, bows being nerfed was the number 1 complaint with the patch. Nobody cares if you don't like bows, plenty of other people do.
If you're going to try sum up the thread, do it with some integrity or don't do it at all.

I summed up the things there were no arguments about? There were arguments about bows and pvp so I didn't point anything out about them.Nocturnal-Rainbows wrote:And then he goes on to list basically only the things his clique tards agree on.Dawidio123 wrote:so TL:DR after 20 pages of forum posts for the devs on stuff i think most ppl agree on:

Do you actually disagree with stuff i mentioned? Or are you here to continue the arguments about bows even though you don't participate in pvp? (Which btw proves my point about there being arguments over the bow changes and not basically unanimous agreement on things i mentioned)

No, I agree with literally everything else you listed. I'm not petty enough to throw away what I believe is right out of spite.Dawidio123 wrote: Do you actually disagree with stuff i mentioned? Or are you here to continue the arguments about bows even though you don't participate in pvp?
Your list would have been accurate had you included bows. All people were saying is to either revert the bow change or if they're going to keep that change then buff them in some other way to compensate for that because bows are already subpar.
Just put them back to how they were this world tbh.

Well I thought there were arguments on both sides about bows so I didn't include them because I don't think it can be summarized in >Revert bow changeNocturnal-Rainbows wrote:No, I agree with literally everything else you listed. If the devs want to actually read the arguments on both sides they need to go through all those pages of thread and read up, I don't think bow nerf was unanimously agreed to be good/bad.

Re: Prelude: World 16
+2 FEPS
After some internal back and forth, we came to the conclusion that we like the idea of, quite simply, counting +2 FEPs as 2 FEPs for purposes of determining the Hunger cost of foods. It likely makes them significantly worse than they have been historically, but at the same time I kind of feel that it could leave them in an interesting spot where they really are an alternative, rather than a strict improvement, over normal +1 FEPs, which I don't hate. It is not immediately obvious to me if I under that paradigm should prefer a food item which gives {3 +1FEPs}, or {1 +1FEP, 1 +2FEP}, all else being equal, and perhaps that could be neat.
Making it thus.
