Re: Game Development: Fine Produce
Any chance produce sacks could be expanded to hold some items that are otherwise unable to be stockpiled? e.g. Raw meat and fat cuts.

yeah, the produce sacks are essentially pocketable wheelbarrows. convenient for taking bulky stockpile stuff home but a cart of chests would move more stuffMalagast wrote:You just gave the reasons for the wheelbarrows existence.Thedrah wrote:the only trouble so far with the produce sacks for me is not being able to quickly empty them like you could with a wheelbarrow and you can't dump fuel into things like steel crucibles
but i plan to use them while fishing or mining with the sled so i don't have to pull a bulky cart with chests, just bag ore/coal/fish and into the sled for the return trip. to me, sacks+sled is a convenience thing
the sacks are cheaper than the wheelbarrow too
gonna mess with friends by running up and sacking stuff they're working on like blocks of wood and coal

Wheelbarrows have their place sure.Malagast wrote:maze wrote:I guess this replaces wheelbarrows, but stacks still feel weird compared to a large chest, what is inventory 48. (or jotun clam 64)
I guess this will have it's use cases.
I honestly would like to see automation for loom and winepress.
The speed of pressing a full barrel of grapes is like 30m to an hour, just try it once Jorb and you'll see how much of a slog pressing anything is.
- Wheelbarrows still have use with instant coal pile harvesting
Arguably faster physical movement of raw stockpiles when building etc cuz you don't have to unpack and mess around with bags in ur inventory the whole time. Also large chests take hard metals and carry how many boards would you say? Always the sweats talking points. Early game and mid game is also a thing.
FYI you can build from sacks.
Stone Casket is 32 slots, bigger then most piles. Also most items can stack what basically makes any inventory double or more based on how big stacks are (inventory*stack amount).

One could think that a container that can only hold 1 type of item with no random access should be able to hold more items than a cheap universal container that can hold anything and lets you do whatever you want with its contents. But here we are.

Good patch, the bags are neat addition but idk if making them is more efficient than just using a wheelbarrow to move stockpiles around. I also assume the scorpion sting gives a nice debuff as is to be expected.

It's much easier to make a pile of bags than 20 wheelbarrows to fill a wagonSaxony4 wrote:Good patch, the bags are neat addition but idk if making them is more efficient than just using a wheelbarrow to move stockpiles around. Diver's Weight (currently) also has an inherent problem that heavily disincentivizes its use:Hasta wrote:A good intermediate update. Cheers on taking to the heart my subtle pointers on Diver's Weight being a one-trick-pony, now expand on it even more ('cause two trick pony is better but not by a lot XD)!
