The fundamental issue is that it's inherently best to engage with it as little as possible, either through running or through beating up animals that can't fight back. The rest are just issues and you point them out correctly, though there have been SOME attempts to make it different that still fall flat on the face because it's better to not engage with those attempts and just mix-up the usual cheese with a slightly different way of cheese.
This is not true except for very specific cases like mammoths, whales and big packs of wolves or cave louse....

For pretty much everything else, after a point you get so strong that its not really worth to cheese a bear for example.

You can still kite stuff like cave louse on a horse with bow, and i dont think the current change will do anything for mammoths stuck in a trap, considering they can't close blue. The only thing i am worried about is whales, i wonder how people are going to cheese em now.

I did see that foxes can close green with tail spin though as long as they are being cheesed, which makes no sense. I wish animals would keep their weak colors so that they can still be kited somehow by not being able to close a specific color.

After a point you get so strong it barely matters what's up with combat system, you just thanos snap animals without any effort, using pretty much any attack you want. And its definitely doesn't favor combat system in any way.

It matters in pvp. And i think ideally pvp and pve should use the same combat system.
Also, animals become not worth cheesing even before they become trivial.

Yes. Hence the emphasis on SOME.

I mean that's the thing, mammoths and wolves aren't even that bad if you consider them group content, like 3-4 ppl with around 200 stats can kill a mammoth in a standstill, wolves with 2-3 ppl and 100 stats. Now orcas and whales, haha, reminder jorb never killed a whale or orca before the rebalance. The orcas ARE faster than your boat and they WILL bash it on the first opportunity they get, you go into shallow water so they don't bash? They skeedadle away. What's the intended way to fight them? A knarr trap (or dugout with claim yknow the deal) where they run around like mad and defend so you either shoot it with bow or spend next 2h of your life slowly chipping away.

Question is how many people actually have experience hunting Orca's in this game? My group was very busy with whale / orca hunting last world and yes this is exactly one of the concerns we have. I suppose re aggro with mutliple people might work somehow.. Jorb / Loftar likely just tested the change they did on a badger or fox which spawned nearby.

fixing it is genuinely asking too much of 50 year old turbouncs who want to draw trees and weiners

it's a swedish game development tradition, see arc raiders.

Consider this: keeping bugs and cheese in is not how you fix the game.
Main reason you can't fight orcas fairly is that naked hermit could solo a pack of orcas with safespotting and reaggro. Which is why players did not complain enough.
It's true that the game will not be fixed because jorbtar don't spend nearly enough time developing or playing it. But throwing stones at them every time they do a step in the right direction isn't gonna help.

The time needed to things to happened should be rethink. Although time was indeed too fast in W16.1, it already took a long time to some activities to complete, like growing crops for example, in which the fastest crops took from 3 to 4 days (an actual reasonable time), and almost a week or more if it were one of those you put in a "fence" (which was already quite a bit of waiting). All the processes related to leather too can be included in it. Not everything needs to be sped up, like making steel, but there are some that could benefit from faster times for a better overall gaming experience.
