Animals strength scaling with quality

Post by Zepar72 »

Basically as the title say. With how displeased people are with the hunting nerfs, maybe low quality animals, used as food and production fodder (and not spiraling) should be easier to kill. Their Hp, stats, speed and maybe even movesets could be scaled with their quality. So 60q bear would be meele-able (no bullshit bear hug), where 300q bear would be faster, have unique ranged/aoe and more armor. This way meat would be still on the menu.
For high Q animals, i totally support the nerfs coming from latest patch though, so this is not intended to reverse them in any way.

like, for every animal? will there be some sort of indicator of that prior to fight? I'd rather not be torn apart by a q100 badger on day 2 of W16.3 :?

Probably not .
If you cant handle 100q steroid badger on day 2, then dont fight a badger on day 2 :D
Kinda like you always have to consider one of the ants in anthill can be turbo.

Big animal. Big quality. Been asking for years, they don't want to for some personal unreleased reason.
Make the high quality animals the fast ones if size is silly

As long as animal strength scaled with quality, than maybe that could work. Size or some other indicators the animal is more "special". Some additional details, colours or whatever. Kinda like we have badgers and badger den mothers in badger dens. Or red and black ants (those could become variants instead of separate creatures).
Chance / number of addional loot (bear teeth, badger teeth and such) could also weight on quality.

Of course this seem a bit ambitious, but hunting does need some rework IMO, separate from anti-cheese

Just add baby animals that are easier to kill and give the same products as their parents, albeit lower quality and quantity.

Baby animals. Domestic meats (lamb, veal), fawn venison, etc. Mama bears with baby bears
