No one in this game actually wants fair PvP; the current state of the world is proof of that. Instead of catering to the demands of PvP players, the developers should do the opposite and make their gameplay more difficult. Once the experience becomes unpleasant for them, it will open up space for new players who might bring something fresh to the game.
Allow free passage through visitor gates while in combat.
Change the start time for "needbanes" from a random window to a fixed schedule—for instance, exactly 12 hours after initiation. This would allow the defending side to plan their defense.
Provide an option to configure what is included in party permissions, or simply exclude actions typically associated with raiding—such as the ability to construct mines and palisades, or to destroy village flags and cairns. In reality, a village usually has only one or two designated individuals responsible for building palisades and mines; the vast majority of players have no need for the permissions that allow for such acts of vandalism.
Restrict catapults so they can only target other catapults and towers;
make battering rams capable of attacking walls while remaining invulnerable to catapults (though they should still be vulnerable to towers).
Nerf overpowered combat moves—for example, make "Cleave" drain 50% of the user's stamina upon execution, or have it strip all "openings" from the target. Having alt characters with only 10 Strength be able to strip openings would certainly frustrate the current generation of PvP players.
Restore the cost of "Sword Storm" to 2 coins. This ability previously allowed for organized, formation-based combat, which added new tactical depth and a better PvP experience; in its current state, it’s just another dead ability.
Set the "hunger" bar to 100% at the start of the game (instead of 300%) and restrict access to quests until a player has earned their first million LP (Learning Points).
Reducing the "hunger" for those who are falling behind is a good mechanic. I would also apply a minor debuff—let’s call it "Titan’s Burden"—to those who are pulling ahead, forcing them to spend more time and resources to overcome it.
Once you hit 200 HP and get armor, you stop feeling any sense of danger from the PvE world.
The world needs more danger: the pace of character progression should be slowed down.
Significantly increase the cost of a mine for the first player to build one, and then decrease the cost of a mine on that specific floor for every additional mine built by anyone else in the world on that same floor.

The quests need a complete overhaul; however, reducing their impact on the start of the game will slow down progression—that’s at least something.Regulus2424 wrote:let me get this straight, you are ok with questing for hunger, you just want the players to get one million LP first? are you Jorb? because this is the most Jorbesque, worthless bandaid suggestion I have seen in years

These changes aren't for PvP players; in many ways, they restore the balance of the "old world"—the state of things before the changes pushed by the PvP crowd—back to a time when game worlds were alive and full of combat for everyoneMoonpoppy wrote:-1 guy is a retard

Im pretty sure the game has only ever gotten more carebear over time as they catered to every whiny hermitVert wrote:These changes aren't for PvP players; in many ways, they restore the balance of the "old world"—the state of things before the changes pushed by the PvP crowd—back to a time when game worlds were alive and full of combat for everyone
I think "PvP crowd" would be more than happy to go back to the times when you could hand bash palisades and 1 shot kill people over walls with bows

Re: No one wants fair PvP
oh ur "olden days" are world 10 lol, aka the world most pvpers cite as their favourite
the only real relevant difference from world 10 is siege got nerfed, I have feeling pvpers would be happy to return to w10 siege and most forum complainers would not
W10 didnt have visitor gate combat, w10 had airlocks and I have no idea why jorb hates airlocks because we tried it many different ways and airlock was clearly the best way. With airlocks your base is actually a defensive position you can run to but its also not just something you can effortlessly abuse in combat, its risky to keep hopping with airlocks
