botting is the choice to progress in the game without actively playing it

if I was a game dev I would simply make the game fun enough that people would actually want to play it (ie more than they want whatever progress shit, if that grind aspect existed in it at all)

they like larp, but they threw in dnd ultima stats and skill trees because Every Other MMO Has That (mmos are shit games made to waste ur time and by extension sub money)

You are very inspired by this person, and he really needs your help. However, the examples he provides are questionable.
Am I really supposed to believe that a character with high stats loses just because of jugular
Perhaps you have forgotten what the ability used to do?

It used to provide 15% green and 10% red openings, requiring 2+2 coins.
You need 4 coins just to land a single strike, if he didnt use zig zag, you will find yourself needing even more coins.
A character using kito is already dealing damage to you. I cant test this right now due to the recent changes, but Im confident that kito would win in a 1v1 scenario.

jugular is strong in group combat, especially when players have 200–300 HP.
Given another week or two, this meta would have faded on its own. In 1v1 fights with high stats, the flaw in jugular becomes clear you constantly run out of coins. kito is simply the better choice.

jugular is presented as a universal ability, but thats not the case.

It was strong in specific situations and perhaps needed a minor nerf or rebalance but instead, its being rendered useless, and you dont seem to care. You are fine with it falling out of use entirely, a piece of the gameplay experience has simply vanished, and you are choosing to ignore it.

A complaint against sos is that it wins a fight using only a single button.Sos was nerfing by increasing its cost to 4 coin so you cant spam it. But the exact same thing would happen if you used jump; it would weaken your deck, but sos player will have no coins. Same result no coins for spam, but instead of adding jump to deck you prefer to ask nerf ability
In reality, the problem lies either in excessive aoe radius or in the fact that, since the introduction of the two-handed sword, the damage dealt to 4 or 5 targets has become far too high.
And we need to nerf from 100 125 150 175 200 to 50 75 100 125 150 or some other numbers.

I honestly dont understand why the argument I won a 1v1 because I have jungular should carry any weight, especially when kos could achieve the exact same outcome faster in that same 1v1 scenario.

im pretty sure i see video with this jugular spam, and i see person who use yield ground the problem he was only one who use it. I remember that his allies with zig zag get ko but i didnt remeber what happened to him. probably crowd get him finally

Everyone in hear is arguing about which specific move is the broken one that needs nerf, or was never broken and was improperly nerfed but one ability spam is hardly the issue in haven rn

Wild noob catering thing, village claims no longer will be besieged.
unless you build a pillar of competition. Which allows siege but awards 20% LP and fep gains

maybe have new villages siegable for a week before you gain no siege status and offer a warning if a new village is built near your own.

Or keep as is and still have pillar of competition that halves siege time.

no new topic only hijack :D

Similar to Maze's most recent "mixed PvE and PvP world" -idea, the most obvious problem is how do you prevent people from utilizing a network of claims that will be fully protected siege, and claims that are vulnerable in exchange for some kind of benefit?

For an example, I thought that "PvE zone" could have some brutal hardcap that means crops/trees can only be q10 so you could mostly just Farmville there. But what if you were to import materials for ovens/water/flour and use the place as a bakery to mass produce food for fighter characters? And this is just the first "tip of the iceberg" of the cascading convolution that would be required to make the concept work.

Then you get into the messy argument of 'how do you decrease botting... reduce the tedium, develop software to detect them, or design the game to disencourage them?'

Tbh all the currently proposed solutions suck except for bot detection which is hard and would require effort taken away from their love project OCO /s
I agree that trying to tackle the problem is Rather difficult to say the least. But look at the state of the game now. Also look how the game was and tell me honestly, do you think its better?

as long as Its easy to bot and achieve what you want while you are at work/asleep then people will always bot. Especially in a PVP game like this. At one time it was rather hard to achieve such greatness(not impossible) via botting. back in the old LP system if the devs would had implemented "diminishing return" strategy then Forests would have been saved.

I feel that Go for the Jugular was nerfed too hard (strictly speaking, it’s only useful early in a world if paired with Fullcircle).

Since Yield Ground reduces both striking and Oppressive openings, it could have served as a solid counter play similar to how Regain composure works against Ravens bite to balance things out smoothly
If they want Go for the jugular to remain viable even in the late game, I feel they should replace +off balance / +Dizzy, rather than keeping it as +10% Reeling / +15% cornered. Unless it synergizes with high-damage attacks like Cleave, it just doesnt feel rewarding to use
If we look strictly at Unarmed combat decks, in its current state, spamming Knock Its Teeth out is simply better due to its lower cooldown and ip cost.

Just out of curiosity, what if storm of swords nerf was reverted, however, it becomes only blue attacking move, yellow is opened but not damaged, meaning it doesn't self open and you'd need full circle to do that aoe damage. Would you think that's a better solution?
