Despite all the sentimental value that this steaming pile of shit of a forum has I was kinda naively hoping that the whole phpBB thingy would fully and irreversibly die and the gnomes would actually have to suck up their silly "libertarian" excuses and use a modern alternative

Yup. Back in 2023, I added some spambot prevention measures. I had made them log some info, and judging from those logs, I didn't think they were doing all that much, so I figured I'd try not reimplementing them at first. Apparently, they were quite meaningful. I've added them back now.
