Hello, Nightdawg!
Since there are no more "visitor" gates, I kindly suggest to change the "objects to click" settings for "Q" hotkey to have option as "non-palisade/brickwall" gates!
Thank you for considering such a change!

Re: Hurricane Client
Hello!
Sorry if this was already asked but I remember using Minesweeper in the previous world and it doesn't seem to work this time..
I am using FLAT WORLD and clicking on "Toggle Mine Sweeper" and nothing appears on the floor..
Am I misremembering how to activate it or is there a problem with this right now? ^^

World 16 still has visitor gates.ErdTod wrote:Hello, Nightdawg!

Anyway I can add an option for this. I'm guessing you're closing your palisade gates by mistake?
I suppose I can split it into "Fence Gates", "Wall Gates" and "Visitor Gates"
They work fine for me?Felky wrote:Hello!

it only works when you mine and see the dust. it doesn't know what other people mined out, and it doesn't keep track of what you mined out in the past before relogging.

Yep, exactly, and in the little pali gate + picketfence classic setup character gets confused and stuck quite often in-between them, in the corner. I am assuming this is due to him trying to do both?..Nightdawg wrote: I'm guessing you're closing your palisade gates by mistake?
Thank you if you add such a distinction! I believe this would be helpful!Nightdawg wrote: I suppose I can split it into "Fence Gates", "Wall Gates" and "Visitor Gates"

Nah, it's only trying to click one, but it takes the distance between your character's center coordinate and the gate's center coordinate.ErdTod wrote:gets confused and stuck quite often in-between them, in the corner. I am assuming this is due to him trying to do both?..
Anyway, I'll split the option and push an update when I have have some time

Re: Hurricane Client
The finding that matters most, verified myself. Hurricane stores your game password in plaintext, by default:
LoginScreen.java:349 pwbox.add(saveaccount = new CheckBox("Save Account", true), ...);
:350 saveaccount.set(true); // ND: Set this to true from the beginning.
// If users don't want to save the account, they will untick it
:642 AccountList.storeAccount(lastUser, lastPass);
AccountList.java:52 savedAccounts = e.getKey() + "(ಠ‿ಠ)" + e.getValue();
Is this true? Hurricane stores password as plain text?
Sorry if my post causes confusion and there's genuine reason to do so. I'm just poking around looking at clients to see if I can tinker up something for myself.

Yes, it stores them as plain text. I think most clients do. I tried using loftar's tokens, but they kept resetting every time you switched clients and it was very obnoxious, especially if you use more than one account.
If you want to share your account with other people, you can use loftar's new token system though:

Most clients ??? ... Please name some! (Shubla client excluded ... its dead)Nightdawg wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 12:47 pm Yes, it stores them as plain text. I think most clients do. The problem here is that: All custom clients should have used the same (vanilla client) data location for reading and saving those passkeys (No matter where those custom clients save there other config data.) ... But they did not do that.
Needles to say that storing the master user-password in some text file is a bad choice.
Hmm ... I guess ...Nightdawg wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 12:47 pm If you want to share your account with other people, you can use loftar's new token system though:

Re: Hurricane Client
Yeah, like ardennes used to store them like that, ender did too, but he changed them when loftar added the token stuff, which was literally breaking if you had 4 other people logging in at least once on that account, or even trying to log in using a different client for some reason. Idk if it works better now.
The client is open sourced. Even if I add password encryption, you can literally see the key. I'm not really sure what the argument here is. The password is saved on your machine.mvgulik wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 7:37 pm Needles to say that storing the master user-password in some text file is a bad choice.
If you were to use a malicious client, you're still logging in using your password in that client anyway?
Yeah, and that's how you end up with some clients breaking settings for other clients. We're still seeing that with some stupid people deciding to break loftar's map caching code, breaking the map for ALL clients, because the map file is stored in the same place.mvgulik wrote: Sun Nov 01, 2026 7:37 pm All custom clients should have used the same (vanilla client) data location
Anyway, if someone has a good alternative that doesn't break the saved-logins when you share your account or use multiple clients, I'm all ears.
