Time to shut down H&H for good?

Post by vipes »

It's heartbreaking seeing Haven continue in this state of "not dead but not really alive either."

With absent devs, glacial patch cycle, collapsing player count and a bitterly divided community...

Even the Titanic had the dignity of sinking within a few hours.

Is it time to give Haven a dignified sendoff instead of watching it slowly die over the years?

I dread the day when I'll come here after a fresh wipe and see "There are 27 Hearthlings playing." Haven deserves a better end than that.

they will never wipe when population is at 20, although unless they are cooking something in the back, haven is finally done

Before this I think jorb should just start vibe coding the game himself and see what happens

Is it actually any worse than it was in the before years?

No, but it stagnated as a project, community interest deteriorated regardless of steam release, and devs seems to completely lost their interest to it.
IMO projects like that could live for decades in that state, doesn't necessary have to end.

Yea, my thoughts exactly . . whenever i come back to this game, it's (as little as it does) a bit better, always has some new mechanics. I think the community here has some unreal expectations towards the devs . . .
And also looking at the state of conversations on this forum, if the developers took more active approach to this fanbase, they'd probably get burned out extremely quickly and abandon this game.
So for me things are ok going as they are :)

Here is a hypothetical (lmao) situation: let's say you make an update that adds a Thingwall Claim, which prevents other type of claims and siege relevant objects from being built/expanded over it. Would it be unreal to expect every palisade/house/claim that already existed next to the Thingwalls to be removed?

Everything is so interconnected they can never get close to a balance. They will never repopulate this game. none of genz will wait for 1 day palisades or 1,5 day leather. And once you change those and permadeath and other shit like travel weariness, the game loses its identity.
