needs more thought. this would tie progression to a tedious daily mechanic, not everyone shares that playstyle

ive seen other games relax this a bit by using a weekly system or increasing the daily point cap with any unearned "leftover" points
Agreed with Jackard here. I can see your (Robben) point for hermits who want try and be competitive, meaning that they have to try and keep up as best they can with all roles in the game. But in a village, which I think this game is largely aimed at, this is not the case and shouldn't be.

I know quite a few people who love clicking their carrots every day, heck some of them twice a day and they dislike e.g. mining, or fishing, or making cheese etc. It doesn't mean because a certain task is tedius and repetitive to you that it is so for everyone else.
I don't see how Jackard's and my suggestion are in any way unaligned. I proposed a limitation on the amount of character progression by capping food consumption to a daily limit. He rightfully pointed out that this would create a tedium of "day by day" play, and countered with a modified suggestion that instead of a daily cap, it runs a weekly one (or a modified daily cap.) I entirely agree with him, and believe a weekly cap would be better.

That said, I understand there are people who love clicking their carrots every day. I wasn't advocating a dismantling of the quality system, which is indeed the primary benefit of clicking your carrots twice every day (with, lets face it, usually a bot.) But the excess food that they can get through their no-lifing or botting shouldn't just make their characters super macho - It should be worthless unless they trade it to someone else for something substantive (because what use is it if they can't eat it?).

If we could reclaim foraging as something not so easily botted, or make hunting the primary source of good curios (while also trying to make it harder to bot), wouldn't this be an elegant way of helping to handle the devolution of the game to rampant botting?

All this game needs is a well thought out justice system. And a combat system that is easy to grasp but difficult to master. And regular updates.

That is all.

No, all this game needs is to get rid of walls and make houses lockable. Then the game would be fucking epic.

Also wise man, you are tied with me for posts, not that it matters.
Early world exploit: Put your hearthfire inside a cave, then hold shift to position a claim right in front of a cave. After 8 hours the claim will be unbreakable. Since your hearthfire is inside the cave, you can still get back inside, and leave, but nobody will be able to enter, effectively making you unraidable for the first 3-7 days. Enjoy
