So about the Animal AI:
Cheese was never the intended method. I don't know really what else to say as most of the "vets" here know the behavior of how J&L are when it comes to patches/exploits/ literally anything that deals with this game.
About anything else that J&L has done:
See previous point.

Idk you'd think at some point they'd actually want people to play the game, hard to do that when they are removing all of the fun from it. They need to revert the AI changes.joojoo1975 wrote:So about the Animal AI:

Jorb has never killed a troll once in any world or any variation of the game, so you may have to be a little more specific.Syndras wrote:Mr.jorb is the new(?) troll aoe blue attack supposed to have no cooldown...

Re: Game Development: Crystal Patch
Cheesing animal hunts is an age old tradition. See buffalo jumps and buffalo pounds as quick examples. The last thing you want to do is try and stand and deliver against literally any animal (unless you're doing something like a gladiator show), and this has historically been intuitive to all people. If humans 12 thousand years ago could have boated and cave cheesed animals irl they 100% would have.
In-game, there's no way to shoot a red deer with an arrow and then endurance track it until it's too exhausted to fight back, nor is there a way to repeatedly hit and run a mammoth with arrows and spears alongside six other players until it's bled and tired enough to fall over. Hence why these methods that are being patched is what everyone has done for years.
I think if you want to eliminate some of the free opening reduction animal combat cheese, which is understandable, then you need to provide some developer-intended methods by which to "cheese" animals that involve advanced preparation, as seen above. Making these tie into industry would even be a net positive. The argument against this is that the intention is to make animal combat resemble/onboard into PVP, but I don't think this works with how simple the aggro/chase/flee AI is and how animals don't need to drink.
I also think the outcry about this indicates how most people just don't think the combat system is fun enough to want to engage. In my experience getting my friends to learn even PVE combat is like pulling teeth, and literally nobody looks forward to grinding for combat moves every world reset. I would have appreciated this experimental world being accompanied by a lot more thought and experimentation around how combat works fundamentally, much like what was going on a decade or so ago.
Overall it feels like this dual long-term stable and short-term experimental format is not being taken advantage of, which is a huge shame and makes me sad! I did see on Twitter (X (The Everything App)) that your post on this patch states you're planning bigger things in the next patch, so I hope you guys are about to bend me over backwards and prove me wrong, but I think if this is the case you REALLY need to say this in the forum post itself. In general I am begging you to just make an update post on if there's going to be a 2-4 week period without a patch. An update about how there's no update and you interacting with the community would make people feel way less doomer

The faster wound healing is nice at leastDawidio123 wrote:When 16.3 with a bunch of new bullshit changes and all the stupid changes from this world reverted. Unironically i missed 16.1 speed up at many points this world, i don't think i'll ever miss any of this world changes lmao (other than gilds, that's one thing you did well).
16.1 - Everything is faster so you need to grind more bcs we didn't compensate in any way, just changed a variable to 1.5x (haha steel)
16.2 - All hunting is now a humiliation ritual that takes longer, hunger is a minmaxxing paradise of questing/salt/eating to 30% hunger even without accounting for top stat ppl abusing the exploit (I wonder why some groups never bought salt this world huh)
Are the experiments just how much of a humiliation ritual you can make this game and ppl still buying gold subs?

So... Divine Intervention soon?
