Re: Game Development: Crystal Patch
I started playing this game when I was like 15, and I'm 33 now. This is the best survival game for me, it also defined my career path - I realized I want to be a game developer after seeing 2 Swedish students creating a masterpiece game. I still think it's the best game there, that's why I still play and pay after so many years. But I do hope that Jorb & Loftar get back to spending more time on this, or release Haven3 with the fruits of primary focus on OCO

I started playing this game when I was 22, I am now 29. I regret it.

This game isn't meant for people with life responsibilities, it's meant for kids not doing homework, college students skipping class, and disabled people trying to find ways to burn time while waiting for the inevitable release of death.

I started playing this game when I was like 150kg, and I'm 330 now. This is the best farmville clone for me, it also defined my career path - I realized I want to be a NEET after seeing 2 genius gnomes in a tower getting paid to take seasonal vacations. I still think it's the best PVE experience out there, that's why I still play and goldsub after so many years. But I do hope that Jorb & Loftar get back to creating more TopHat With Thing On It variants, or release Haven3 - Haphen with the fruits of primary focus on OCO for a decade with no tangible progress

I like to think that this is what the experimental worlds are for. So some good (at least intended) changes can be tested here. The slow drip of updates kinda points against this of course, but at least we are getting some reworks of core mechanics that are long overdue.Zephroze wrote:I think videogamedunkey put it best. No matter how good the AI is, no matter what the devs do, the players will just keep pushing until it breaks and all the cracks are shown.
You can't just keep applying bandaids to it, just leave it be and --->TEST<--- some things with a group of fucking actual players in a test environment. You can do very very big experimental changes in 1 month invite-only worlds, give everybody starter kits and bases, and tell them the goal, give them a cape or even a token for it. Costs you nothing but projected income. They're not willing to manage any people, but they're willing to sit around watching Snail exploit all day to figure out how. What's the difference here?
Of course some tryhards are gonna cry in here how unfair it is that other tryhards have discovered how to abuse those before them. Devs are trying to fix systems that has been abused for years. Even if they're a bit slow about it and the fixes arent perfect, it still points to the fact they're trying to make the game better. No idea why is there so much hate about literally anything they do here

I love a lot of the things they do, or I wouldn't play the game. I really do love it and just wish some of the big issues could be solved.Zepar72 wrote:I like to think that this is what the experimental worlds are for.
