You put your own health at risk for what?
Your group has people from different time zones you are supposed to convince them to take a shift.
Everyone else should be in bed with notification sound turned up to the max.
At wat point is it meant to be fun?

'Do nothing for 24h' is not a siege mechanics it's a lack of siege mechanics

Call me crazy but Siege should involve actually sieging enemy, firing catapults and shit

Very fun mechanic: little timmy stands here and watch ram all day and night, ping us on discord if anything happens

Big villages is 3 days of 'Do nothing' its not realistic its a boring and dumb system. I don't care if u make crazy big defender advantage. Nerf siege with difficulty/effort instead of tedium

Imagine if every game system work that way like to kill a troll u have to stare at it without moving for 12 hours. To build a great hall u need to afk 24 hours with occasional checks to make sure u didn't sleep. Why is siege the thing where ppl think that's somehow normal

Although considering devs do 1 change per world at best if they spent their 5 minutes of dev work on this it would definitely make very salty playerbase lol. I would prefer pve content changes this world had shitty pop

According to the wiki, a battering ram travels 7 tiles per hour—though I can’t verify this; it might actually be 7 tiles every 2 hours. Even now, you can place a claim with a palisade near a village, and once it’s fully established, you can set up a ram there in complete safety, significantly shortening the siege duration. Increasing the ram's speed would effectively bring siege times down to around 5 hours.
The real problem is the massive village claims that cost absolutely nothing to maintain.

It gets fun when you get to delete a village off the map and make the whole group quit the game.

Losing to a troll you just die while losing a siege your whole village dies and almost always results in the whole group quitting.
The gravity of losing a siege is far greater.

I feel like its balanced just fine.
You get to -40 the player population count for the rest of the world for spending 2 days awake.

how come these PvE-related things (killing a troll) take so much less time than those strictly PvP-related things (siege)? it's almost like there is a difference :?

I'm not talking about balance. I make my point so clearly and ppl still dont get it...

It's arguably currently not even that difficult it's just really boring. If the difficulty is convincing players to sit there watching paint dry that's a pretty retarded unfun form of difficulty. You could easily make it harder to succeed while making it less tedious for everyone involved.

You could make it require a ton of resources, u could make it spawn npc guards, u could give attackers a debuff, it could be defender raid window, could have some skill based siege machine mechanics. That's off the top of my head. Why is every1 so married to the idea that the content has to be boring like boringness is somehow a crucial ingredient and if its not boring that'd be somehow unfair

You cant, they'll build village banner and destroy your claim with 1 button

This guy know what we all talk about. Why I would stay 24h just looking for fighters to come or waiting for nothing

It should be unfun to discourage you from doing it. It taking so long is the easiest way to make it harder from game development side.
Its not fun for defenders either. You lose 2 months of base grind in a weekend if you lose.
You should only ever be sieging a big village if you really hate them.

To improve morale on your side you should get your 10 guys involved and give them all 2h shifts watching rams in stead of getting 1 guy to ruin their health staying up.
If you find it hard to convince them then its a sign that they don't hate your opponent that much that they would want to siege them.

Don't worry I get it. I have suggested some of the things you listed. Make seperate threads with the ideas if you care about siege. Im not opposed to change just not what OP is suggesting.

Buff defenders by making it impossible to kill them on their claim (HHP set to 1 instead of death no matter how big a hit they take). Nerf attackers by making it always possible to execute them if you KO them on the claim. And this still wouldn't come even close to making the attackers match the investment of the defenders.
