Brodgar's having a bit of trouble with recruits, having only two people who are capable of inviting new members is something of a bottleneck.
If the hirdsmen were also able to do this, or if it could be done via a non real time process (i.e. Apply at the totem, and reivew/grant from the totem later on) then my life would be a lot easier.

Want:
-Healers, for healin' and shit.
-Guild-lords, would create guilds for things such as farming, baking, mining. People in them get a slight bonus.
-War Chiefs, would give a morale boost that increased damage, health, or stamina in fights.

Do not want. Or actually, it depends a little on what, more exactly, you mean by healing, but one of the things we've really wanted to avoid is the otherwise golden RPG rule that every party needs a healer. We plan for it to be forever impossible to be healed while fighting (or at least being a really high-level skill), and healing HHP should generally be hard. Psysicians/surgeons/whathaveyou will probably exist at some point, though.Jfloyd wrote:-Healers, for healin' and shit.
Not terribly convincing, if you ask me. Skills like that should be dependent on the actual character doing the work.Jfloyd wrote:-Guild-lords, would create guilds for things such as farming, baking, mining. People in them get a slight bonus.
Indeed. However, that will most likely be a function of people with high charisma conferring such effects to members of a party that he is the leader of. Note that the chieftain of a village is able to replenish stamina for the cost of authority.Jfloyd wrote:-War Chiefs, would give a morale boost that increased damage, health, or stamina in fights.
I agree that something needs to be done to address this issue. However, I think that would be the task of another system of government than villages. We have plans for, and there is code infrastructure already in the server for, other systems of government than simple villages. It will, for instance, probably be possible to upgrade a village into a "town" or something, which would have other abilities. It will also be possible to create formalized aggregations of lower-level governments, so that, for instance, villages and towns can be annexed into kingdoms, and so on.theTrav wrote:If the hirdsmen were also able to do this, or if it could be done via a non real time process (i.e. Apply at the totem, and reivew/grant from the totem later on) then my life would be a lot easier.

Only in the village influence where little to no combat of any note takes place. Good for strangulating intruders thoughloftar wrote:Note that the chieftain of a village is able to replenish stamina for the cost of authority.
Sounds pretty rad, however it's also a little disappointing because it also sounds like it'll take a long time meaning my life will continue to be difficult for quite some time.loftar wrote:I agree that something needs to be done to address this issue. i would prefer 'healers' to be more of medicine men, higher understanding of medicine, can use herbs to help cure ails etc

Agreed. I see healers as more for removing long term debufs rather than just restoring SHP ala current deer implementations.XkrikX wrote:i would prefer 'healers' to be more of medicine men, higher understanding of medicine, can use herbs to help cure ails etc
Speaking of the current deer implementations... Can we nix their healing in favour of some fancy "do less damage" debuf on the players?

I very strongly agree with you.loftar wrote: but one of the things we've really wanted to avoid is the otherwise golden RPG rule that every party needs a healer.
I think if people could go in beds, and healers could do something to them with herbs and bandages, allowing them to slowly heal, it would be cool. Also, a medicine man should be able to remove thorns.
